Completed in 1970, Westway was an unprecedented engineering achievement, providing much needed relief to the traffic clogged streets of Paddington, Royal Oak, Notting Hill and White City. However many houses were demolished and communities displaced to make way for the iconic concrete structure. Today the Westway carries tens of thousands of people to and from central London, and provides shelter for a variety of community groups, activities and businesses.
This project, completed in 2010, is a celebration of the road itself, and of the people that live, work and play alongside and beneath its 2.5 mile length.
